Deva Racing is delighted to announce that shares are available in an attractive two year old colt by Dabirsim called Mountbatten. He is in training with Archie Watson who is based in Lambourn.
Despite only taking out his licence in late 2016, Archie Watson has quickly ascended the training ladder and now oversees one of the most powerful stables in the country. He has trained well over 350 winners already and gained a memorable Group-1 breakthrough when Glen Shiel won the British Champions Sprint at Ascot in October.
This colt is out of the winning Danehill Dancer mare Sapore Di Roma, who has also produced an unraced two-year-old colt by Wootton Bassett, who realised 50,000gns when sold at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale last year.
Sapore Di Roma is in turn out of the Listed-placed Olvia, from the family of pattern winners such as Ronda, Istan and Purr Along.
The covering sire Dabirsim won the Group-1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and Group-1 Prix Morny during a brilliant unbeaten two-year-old season, and has subsequently developed into one of the most prolific French stallions currently in service. Indeed, he topped the numerical chart in 2017 when coveringan extraordinary 198 mares.
On the track he is responsible for the Group-3 winning and Group-1 placed pair Coeur de Beaute and Different League, as well as the Listed–winners Celestin, Pizzicato, Rose Flower and Velma Valento.
What is particularly noteworthy is that the aforementioned Different League is out of a Danehill Dancer mare, just like the yearling on offer here.
She won the Group-3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2017, before finishing third in the Group-1 Prix Morny and second in the Group-1 Cheveley Park Stakes. She then sold for 1,500,000gns and went into training with Aidan O’Brien, for whom she continued to show very smart form as a three-year-old.
This classy-looking two year old is clearly bred on the right lines for success and he is based with an exceptional young trainer who will leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of success.
