Grange Road is a promising NH prospect. A five-year-old son of Oscar, he was sent off a warm favourite for a Knockmullen House point-to-point last November, and two starts later was a narrow third at Lingstown.
These efforts alone point to an exciting career under rules, though a glance at his pedigree adds to the anticipation.
Grange Road is out of the unraced Presenting mare Niamh’s Away, who is a half-sister to the promising Olly Murphy-trained point/bumper/hurdles winner Presence of Mind. This is the family of four-time Grade-1 winning chaser (including two Ryanairs and an RSA) Albertas Run and the Grade-1 winning hurdler Mister Morose.
The pairing of Oscar with daughters of Presenting is also a well-established path to success, and has previously resulted in the outstanding Paisley Park, amongst numerous others.
Grange Road has been given the time he needs prior to getting his rules career underway but rest assured he is one that will be worth waiting for!
