Two Runners To Look Forward To
by Ryan Tongue
10th January 2021

The start of the working week is not always a day to look forward to however, that is not the case for the Deva Racing team on Monday when two nice horses have their first run in the blue and red. Grimm Star makes his handicap debut in the 3:20 at Hereford and he is closely followed by Zip Pearl in the concluding bumper at Doncaster.

Grimm Star comes from Ireland with some nice form, notably when only beaten 5 lengths in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown, in September. He has since joined a yard that is well known for improving horses and he makes his handicap debut on what looks a workable mark. The heavy ground conditions at Hereford are unlikely to hinder him and with the talented Cillin Leonard taking
off 6lb, he looks destined to run a nice race.

Just 20 minutes later Zip Pearl goes to post for the very first time, when lining up in a hot looking bumper at Doncaster. She is from a well connected family and is trained by Oliver Greenall, who has been in scintillating form for the past month.

She is however, mentally immature and she is sure to lean plenty for her first day at school. That being said, she is fit, well and ready to take her chance. We are delighted to mention that champion jockey Brian Hughes is getting the leg up and we look forward to watching her start the first leg, of what is hopefully a long and successful career.
