Tom Cat Lights Up Liverpool
by Ryan Tongue
15th May 2021

Captain Tom Cat put in a performance that had to be witnessed, to have been fully appreciated when dismantling a field of decent handicappers at Aintree, yesterday evening.

Confidence was high beforehand that Captain Tom Cat would leave his hurdles form behind however, even the biggest of optimist would have struggled to have believed the manner in which he went about his business.

Sam Twiston-Davis started the race upsides one other horse but it was not to be long until Captain Tom Cat’s impressive jumping technique had the field spread out like washing.

As they turned into the straight for the final time, it was clear that there was only going to be one winner. Yet, three more spectacular leaps ensured that the race was his and he eventually ran out an ultra-impressive 12 length winner.

Post race Dr Newland could not hide his delight and stated that it was the most impressive jumping performance he had ever seen, from one of his novice chasers.

Future plans are still undecided but on this performance it is clear that he will give all his enthusiastic owners a summer to remember.
