The Start Of An Exciting Week
by Ryan Tongue
13th April 2021

Today is the start of a busy and exciting week for the Deva Racing team, with the first of our five runners hitting the track. The two runners going to post today are, Costa Adeje in the 1.35 at Newmarket Goldencard in the 5.25 at Southwell.

Costa Adeje gets the ball rolling in a strong looking 5f Novice Stakes at the headquarters of flat racing. His homework in recent weeks has been extremely encouraging and Tom Dascombe is full of hope that this young colt will have a bright future. Nevertheless, this race has churned up some useful horses in the past and on paper, today will be no different. There are expensive and well bred colts trained by leading trainers such as Richard Hannon, Hugo Palmer and Andrew balding.

The recently crowned all-weather champion jockey, Richard Kingscote, will ride and we are looking forward to watching this young colt start his career, before moving on to bigger and better things throughout the remainder of the season.

We move onto Goldencard, who is reverting to hurdles for the first time in over a year. Although extremely efficient over fences, including notching up three second places in a row throughout the winter months, he showed better form over hurdles for a previous yard. Therefore, we are extremely excited to see what he can do today racing off his much reduced hurdle mark. Although, there is reason to believe that he is better when racing over slightly further. Nonetheless, we think he will run extremely well after having a short break and Nick Schofield knows the horse well.
