Friday promises to be a day to remember for the Deva Racing team. First up, Glorious Zoff bids to make our first runner in Ireland a winning one, when lining up in the 3YO Maiden Hurdle at 2:00. This is quickly followed up, by Captain Tom Cat having his first run in handicap company, when contesting the 2m5f Handicap Hurdle Cheltenham, due of at 3:00.
Our first runner in Ireland is an exciting one, and one we cannot wait to watch. Glorious Zoff was a decent horse on the flat, running to marks in the mid 70s, but a flight of hurdles could take his game to a new level. His jumping at home has been electric and he really seems to be loving his new life in the Emerald Isle. Hopes are high that he can transfer what he is showing at home, on to the track. But we all know that it is different doing it in a racing environment, therefore a clear round is the priority. We are delighted that Keith Donoghue is able to ride.
The excitement does not stop there however, and next up is Captain Tom Cat. Captain Tom Cat has done nothing wrong since he joined the Deva ranks, racking up 2 wins and a place from only 3 runs and is clearly improving. Dr Newland and his team are confident that a mark of 121, does not show tell the true extent of his ability and with Cillin Leonard taking off another 7lb, he looks to have an excellent chance. Nevertheless, this is Cheltenham and as to be expected this looks to be an extremely competitive race.
Fingers are crossed that both horses show their true ability and come home safe.
