The unrelenting rain that has gushed down upon racecourses up and down the country, has played havoc with Ripper Roo’s intended targets recently. Thankfully, with no inspections due, it looks as though he will get the chance to fulfil his potential and get that all important first win under rules, when lining up in the 2m3f Maiden Hurdle at Catterick (3.00) on Friday.
After finishing a very creditable second on his only two starts to date for Deva Racing, we are excited to see if he can finally knock the door down and get the victory that him and his loyal owners deserve.
The step up in trip from 2 miles to 2m3f looks destined to bring out improvement from this former point to point winner and with form on very soft ground already in the book, there is every reason to believe that he will see out the race the best.
The opposition are headed by Donald McCain’s his ex-Irish point to pointer, Barrichello, and with Donald’s horses having been in excellent form since the turn of the year, he will surely be a tough nut to crack.
However, Olly Murphy could not be happier with Ripper Roo and with Aiden Coleman on board, we feel that this could be the day that Ripper Roo shows his true talent.
