Monjeni runs in the 2:05 at Southwell today and encounters the unique fibresand surface for the first time in his career.
Ian Williams’ charge has been the model of consistency of late and it would great if he could manage to get his head in front, with the step down in class and step up in trip looking sure to suit.
The unique nature of the course means that it is impossible to predict how he will act on the surface – horses tend to thrive on it or hate it! But Ian is optimistic that he will be at one on the surface and if this is the case he will be hard to beat. He is running off mark that he has been ultra-competitive off before and the step up in trip to the marathon distance of 2m2f should bring out the best in him.
