Monjeni aims to give Deva Value with their first winner, when he travels to Lingfield on Wednesday to run in the last race at 3:20.
Ian Williams’ charge has been great fun for his many owners so far, and we are hoping that the trip east to Lingfield will bring out the necessary improvement to get his head back in front. Thankfully, there are reasons to believe that the necessary improvement can be found.
Firstly, Monjeni seems to be a better horse on the all-weather. He has a brilliant 27% strike rate when running on the all-weather compared to a 14% strike rate on turf. Secondly, he has ran at Lingfield just the twice, both over the same distance as this race and both times he has won. Add that to the fact that, the visor has been readded and Jim Crowley now knows the horse and you must think, that he has to have a great chance.
Ian reports that he is in super from at home and let’s hope that he can preserve that 100% strike rate at Lingfield!
