Deva Racing favourite Monjeni, is seen back in action for the first time this year, when he lines up the 2 miles Betway Apprentice Handicap at Wolverhampton – due off at 7:30.
He is a horse bursting with character, which makes him well loved by all at Ian Williams’ yard as well as his countless owners. Like many before him, he did not take to the fibresand surface at Southwell last time out and it would be fair to draw a line through that race. However, now back on his favoured tapeta surface, hopes are that he can find the same level of form that saw him running so well at Kempton only two starts ago.
As always with this strong stayer, a fast gallop is needed to see him perform to his high level of ability and of that we can only hope.
Thor Hammer Hansen takes the ride on him for the first time but he as oodles of experience for an apprentice and we are delighted to have him on board.
