Sunday bids to be a memorable day for Deva Racing, as Marine One and Cillin Leonard look to add to their recent listed hurdle success at Market Rasen, when they take part in the Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las.
A highly progressive horse, Marine One has won two novice hurdles and a listed handicap hurdle already this season, with his handicap mark raising 15lb in the process. However, this will be his toughest assignment to date.
As you would expect for the grade of race there are some high-class opposition. Ballyandy, who was 8th in this year’s champion hurdle heads the weights, while top class chaser Sceau Royal tops the market. Nevertheless, Marine One heads to Ffos Las in the form of his life and the galloping track will play to his strengths a lot more than the sharp track that is Market Rasen. With Cillin Leonard taking off a huge 7lb, he carries no weight and this is certainly a race to look forward to for his loyal owners.
