Olly Murphy sends Jan Wellens to Uttoxeter on Friday, in search of an improvement on his first run over hurdles. He runs in the Juvenile Hurdle at 1:20 and Dave England will take the ride.
A strong stayer on the flat in Ireland, it was no surprise that he was caught out for a lack of speed on his hurdle debut at Perth. It is expected that the more galloping track of Uttoxeter will play to his strengths and the application of cheek pieces should also sharpen him up at the hurdles.
On paper this looks competitive juvenile hurdle, but we are hopeful that with positive tactics he will be able to trouble the main principles. Dave England has done the majority of his schooling at home and we look forward to him riding for us once again.
