Jan Wellens Looks To Find His Form
by Ryan Tongue
16th January 2021

Jan Wellens is Deva Racing’s only runner on Saturday when he lines up in the 12:15 at Lingfield.

The son of Dutch Art has been a little underwhelming since he arrived from Ger Lyon’s yard in the summer and hopes of a return to form are hinging on him racing back on the level. After winning over 10 furlongs as a 3-year-old, he looked the ideal type to go juvenile hurdling but unfortunately things have not gone as smoothly as anticipated for Olly Murphy’s charge. Therefore, giving him a run on the all-weather while the ground on the jumps tracks is atrocious, looks a sensible idea.

Olly has booked top jockey Joe Fanning for the ride and with blinkers being applied, we are hopeful that he will show the same level of form that made us fall in love with him back in the summer.
