Grimm Star Goes North In Search Of Glory
by Ryan Tongue
21st February 2021

Just the one runner for the Deva Racing team on Monday, when Grimm Star heads North up the M6 to Carlisle and looks to make his presence felt in the first division of the 2 Mile Handicap Hurdle (3.10) for Dr Richard Newland.

The French bred son of Cokoriko has had just the one start to date in Britain, when finishing an eye-catching third at Hereford last month. He caught the eye of many pundits that day with the way that he jumped and travelled but ultimately, getting in a battle a long way from home took its toll going towards the last. That race was over 2m3f and the drop down in trip to 2 miles on a notoriously stiff track should play into this young horses’ hands.

Adding to the excitement, the form of that race has taken notable boosts, the winner has since gone on and won again, while the 9th placed horse also went and finished in the winner’s enclosure on his next outing.

Dr Newland was thrilled with how he schooled in a recent schooling session and with our sponsored jockey, Cillin Leonard aboard, he looks like he has a good chance.
