All eyes will be on the 2:40 at Doncaster tomorrow as Glorious Zoff bids to claim victory in the Grade 2 bet365 Summit Juvenile Hurdle.
Gordon Elliott’s charge has bypassed a couple of engagements in Ireland and instead heads to Doncaster, in bid of finding better ground. Unfortunately, the weather forecast looks to have been slightly incorrect and the going on Friday looked to have been quite soft. Nevertheless, the ground will still be better than it has been in Ireland in recent weeks and hopes are high that Glorious Zoff will run a bold race.
The form of his Sligo victory has had a recent boost with the runner up that day, Crassus, going on and winning at Limerick just last week. While he had another form boost when the reopposing Gold Desert, who he beat comprehensibly at Sedgefield, went and won nicely at Catterick under a penalty.
Even though he ran a nice race at Sedgefield, Gordon feels it is best to draw a line through his that run as it came quickly after Sligo and he did not get the best of rides. Gordon is confident that he has got him back in the same form as when he was so impressive at Sligo and with the booking of the brilliant Robbie ‘Puppy’ Power, we are looking forward to his first try in Graded company.
We are under no illusions; this is an extremely tough race. Multiple Champion Trainer, Paul Nicholls, runs Monmiral, who has looked mighty impressive in his two runs to date and will no doubt be a tough nut to crack.
