Captain Tom Cat Runs At Cheltenham
by Ryan Tongue
14th April 2021

We head to Cheltenham today where the blue and red silks are carried to post by prolific hurdle winner, Captain Tom Cat. As you expect for the cut-throat nature of the track, he is running in an ultra competitive looking handicap hurdle, due to go off at 2:40.

A three time hurdle winner during the early part of the season, Captain Tom Cat was given a winter break throughout the worst of the winter months. This break looks to have done him the world of good as he has grown and filled out his big frame.

Dr Richard Newland has had this race in mind ever since she ran at Aintree in early December and all the reports coming out from his camp are very positive. He heads into this race fresh, well and back on his most favoured good ground.
Although a big run is expected, this race is a stepping stone for bigger and better things to come throughout the summer. He has long been thought of as a chaser and that is the route that he will go down, after completing this race. Furthermore, there are a plethora of high-class and talented individuals that he is taking on in this race today. These include the favourite, who is trained and ridden by the all conquering Skelton brothers.
Nevertheless, we are confident that Captain Tom Cat can once again find the winning thread and get his summer campaign of to the best possible start under our sponsored jockey, Cillin Leonard.
