Deva Racing were delighted to purchase this gorgeous individual at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sales and he certainly has the looks, to match his superb pedigree. He is a member of the first crop of dual European Champion Miler, Ribchester, and out of a full sister to Classic placed and multiple Group 1 placed, Venus De Milo.
Ribchester needs no introduction. A thrice raced two-year-old, he concluded his juvenile season by winning the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury. However, he came of age in his classic year with success in the Group 1, Jacques Le Marois, sandwiched between placed efforts in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes and the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Not forgetting a placed effort in the 2000 Guineas, earlier in the season.
His progression did not stop there and as a four-year-old he racked up three Group 1 wins, in the Lockinge Stakes, Queen Ann Stakes and the Prix du Moulin.
Venus De Medici, herself by the five-time Group 1 winning Duke Of Marmalade, only had the one career start. However, she is full sister to the Coolmore owned and raced, Venus De Milo, who was runner up in the Irish Oaks as well as taking up the same position in the Yorkshire Oaks and the Pretty Polly Stakes.
Her top-class pedigree does not end there, she is also half-sister to the Listed and Group 3 placed, What A Home. While her extended pedigree has the likes of Classic winner Harbour Law and Group 1 winner, Poet’s Word amongst others.
With the speed and durability of his sire, matched with the class and staying power of his dam, this youngster has all the credentials to go right to the top.
