A five-year-old son of the late Fame And Glory, Del Duque is out of a half-sister to the stakes earning jumpers Rouble, Kopeck and Society Brief. Although sure to make a chaser in time, he has nonetheless shown some promise in his embryonic hurdling career and rates a cracking long-term prospect.
Del Duque made his debut for trainer Olly Murphy in a Huntingdon novice hurdle in February. He showed plenty of potential in fourth that day, and again when second at Bangor during the summer.
Two slightly disappointing runs in between have resulted in an attractive-looking opening handicap mark of 105 and it won’t be long before this lad is in the winner’s enclosure.
On handicap debut, this all worked and he won at Uttoxeter under a great ride by David England. He is a horse who will progress plenty now.
