Here’s a little more about Chesterfield King…
Sourced from Ireland, Chesterfield King is a seven-year-old son of Kalanisi who has already won over hurdles and has a bright future over fences.
He finished runner-up on his second start in a Roscommon bumper as a four-year-old and scored in a two-mile novice hurdle at Fairyhouse later the same season. Having missed the 2018/19 campaign, Chesterfield King was sent chasing last year. For all that his season was beset by misfortune, there was a good deal of promise too.
On his fencing debut at Naas, Chesterfield King was making good late headway when falling two out, whilst on his only subsequent start he was running a big race against some smart opposition before being squeezed up and brought down on the flat before three out at Thurles.
With some excellent hurdles form to his name, including when placed behind the high-class Real Steel, and as a near relation of the black-type earning 142-rated chaser Mr Diablo, there is every reason to believe that the best is yet to come from this likeable and lightly-raced individual.
